Spring Airlines is China's first and largest low-cost carrier, founded in 2004 and headquartered in Shanghai. It operates an extensive domestic network within China alongside international routes to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and other destinations.
The airline operates an all-Airbus narrowbody fleet and maintains a strict ultra-low-cost model, with ancillary revenue playing a significant role in its commercial strategy. Spring Airlines listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2015.
Spring Airlines has expanded internationally through its Japanese affiliate Spring Japan (IJ), which operates as a separate entity from Tokyo Narita. The parent carrier continues to grow its direct international services from Shanghai and other Chinese cities.
