Batik Air is a full-service Indonesian airline and the premium brand within the Lion Air Group. Founded in 2013, it was established to compete in the full-service segment of the Indonesian domestic market and on international routes across the Asia-Pacific region, offering a more premium product than parent carrier Lion Air.
The airline operates from Jakarta's Soekarno–Hatta International Airport to destinations across Indonesia and to international points in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Australia. Batik Air distinguishes itself from the Lion Air Group's other carriers through complimentary meals, a two-class cabin configuration, and a higher service standard.
Batik Air operates a mixed fleet of Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 family aircraft. The Lion Air Group also operates a Malaysian subsidiary under the Batik Air name, though the Indonesian and Malaysian operations are separate certified airlines.
