Middle East Airlines

Middle East Airlines (MEA) is the flag carrier of Lebanon, headquartered in Beirut and operating its hub at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. Founded in 1945, MEA is one of the oldest airlines in the Arab world and has served as Lebanon's primary link to international destinations through decades of regional turbulence.

MEA is a member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance, providing Lebanese passengers with connectivity to the alliance's extensive global network. The airline focuses on routes connecting Beirut with major cities across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Gulf, catering to Lebanon's large diaspora community and business travellers.

The airline operates a modern fleet of Airbus aircraft and has maintained a reputation for reliability and service quality. MEA is majority-owned by Banque du Liban, the Lebanese central bank, making it a state-aligned carrier that has continued operating even through Lebanon's prolonged economic and political crises.
