Overview
Olympic Air is a Greek regional and domestic airline headquartered in Kifisia, Attica. Founded in 2009 as a successor to the privatised and dissolved Olympic Airlines, the current entity is a subsidiary of Aegean Airlines, Greece's largest carrier, following the latter's acquisition in 2013.
The airline specialises in domestic Greek routes, particularly to island destinations that are difficult or impractical to serve with larger jet aircraft. Olympic Air plays a vital public service role in connecting remote Aegean and Ionian islands to Athens, operating with turboprop aircraft suited to shorter runways.
As a subsidiary of Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air benefits from shared operations and codesharing with its parent, offering passengers connectivity to Aegean's wider European network through Athens. The airline is an important component of Greece's air transport infrastructure, particularly for island communities.
