Cathay Pacific is the flag carrier of Hong Kong, founded in 1946 by an American and an Australian aviator who started flying surplus military DC-3s out of Shanghai. From its dedicated terminal at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), Cathay built a reputation as one of Asia's premier long-haul carriers.
