Overview
Eurowings is a German low-cost carrier and subsidiary of Lufthansa Group, established in its current form in 2011 following the rebranding and restructuring of germanwings. It serves as the group's budget short-haul brand, primarily targeting leisure and price-sensitive business travellers across Europe.
The airline operates from multiple German bases including Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Hamburg, and Stuttgart, connecting them to leisure destinations across the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, and European city-break markets.
Eurowings operates an all-Airbus A320-family fleet, providing commonality with other Lufthansa Group operators and enabling aircraft to be transferred between group brands as demand dictates.
Although Eurowings itself is not a Star Alliance member, its parent Lufthansa Group is deeply embedded in the alliance, and Eurowings participates in Miles & More, Lufthansa's loyalty programme, giving travellers access to Star Alliance earning and redemption benefits.
