flydubai is a low-cost carrier established in 2008 by the Government of Dubai to stimulate travel to and from underserved markets in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Europe.
Operating an all-Boeing 737 MAX fleet from its hub at Dubai International Airport (Terminal 2), flydubai serves more than 100 destinations across around 50 countries, with a particular focus on short- to medium-haul routes where legacy carriers were absent or expensive.
Despite its budget positioning, flydubai offers a full Business class cabin on many routes, with lie-flat seats available on longer-haul services. The airline has an extensive code-share partnership with Emirates, allowing seamless connectivity across both carriers' combined global networks.
flydubai has been a significant launch customer for the Boeing 737 MAX and operates one of the largest MAX fleets outside the United States, reflecting the government's commitment to fleet modernisation and fuel efficiency.
