Overview
Air France is the flag carrier of France, founded in 1933 and today the largest airline of the Air France-KLM Group. Operations centre on Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Europe's third-busiest hub by passenger numbers, with a smaller presence at Paris Orly for domestic and regional flights.
The long-haul fleet is dominated by the Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 777-300ER, supplemented by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and the older 777-200ER. Short-haul European routes use Airbus A220-300, A320 family, and Embraer 190 / 195 jets — one of the most modern European narrow-body fleets thanks to the A220 rollout.
Air France is a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance (2000) and operates the largest transatlantic joint venture in the world together with KLM, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic. The group reaches over 300 destinations across 100+ countries through this combined network.
Flying Blue is the shared frequent-flyer programme of Air France and KLM, with status tiers from Explorer through Platinum. La Première is Air France's flagship First cabin — among the most exclusive in commercial aviation, available on selected ultra-long-haul routes.
