Qatar Airways is the flag carrier of Qatar, founded in 1993 and re-launched in 1997 under the current corporate structure. The carrier operates from its mega-hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha — one of the world's most modern airport complexes — connecting more than 170 destinations across six continents.

The fleet is one of the most modern in commercial aviation: Airbus A350-900 / A350-1000 (Qatar was the world's launch customer), Boeing 777-300ER and the upcoming 777-9, Boeing 787-8 / 787-9 Dreamliners, plus the Airbus A380 and A320 family for regional. Qatar Airways Cargo operates a substantial fleet of dedicated freighters separately.

Qatar is a member of the oneworld alliance (since 2013) and partners with British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, and Japan Airlines. The carrier's global expansion has been one of the most aggressive in modern aviation history — only one stop in Doha required for most long-haul routings.
