China Southern Airlines
Overview
China Southern Airlines is the largest airline in China by fleet size and passenger numbers, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Guangzhou. It serves as the flag carrier of southern China and is majority owned by the Chinese state.
The airline operates one of the most extensive route networks in Asia, connecting over 200 domestic and international destinations across six continents. Its Guangzhou hub at Baiyun International Airport serves as a major gateway between China, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and beyond.
China Southern operates a large and modern fleet encompassing Airbus A320-family narrowbodies, Airbus A330 wide-bodies, and Boeing 737, 777, and 787 variants. The airline was the first Chinese carrier to operate the Airbus A380, though those aircraft were later retired.
China Southern is a full member of the SkyTeam alliance. Passengers earn and redeem miles through the Sky Pearl Club loyalty programme, which partners with numerous hotel and car rental schemes.
