GOL Linhas Aéreas is Brazil's second-largest airline by fleet, founded in 2001 by the Constantino family. It pioneered the low-cost model in the Brazilian market, disrupting the established full-service carriers and rapidly expanding to become a major domestic force.

The airline operates an extensive domestic network across Brazil and selected international routes to South America, the Caribbean, and the United States. Its hubs at São Paulo's Guarulhos and Congonhas airports and at Brasília position it at Brazil's busiest travel markets.

GOL operates an all-Boeing 737 fleet, including 737-800 classics and 737 MAX 8 variants, giving it the maintenance and training efficiencies of a single-type operation. The airline has faced financial headwinds in the post-pandemic period, entering Chapter 11 restructuring in the United States in early 2024.

GOL is not a member of a global alliance but has codeshare partnerships with Air France-KLM, Delta Air Lines, and Aeromexico among others. Its Smiles loyalty programme is separately listed and operates as a publicly traded entity, offering miles redeemable across a broad partner network.
