Overview
TAROM (Transporturile Aeriene Romane) is the flag carrier airline of Romania, wholly owned by the Romanian state. Founded in 1954, it is one of the oldest airlines in Central and Eastern Europe and operates from its main hub at Henri Coanda International Airport near Bucharest.
The airline operates a mixed network of domestic Romanian routes alongside international services to European cities, the Middle East, and North America. TAROM has been a member of the SkyTeam alliance since 2010, providing its passengers with connectivity to a global network of partner carriers.
TAROM has undergone various restructuring efforts over the years to improve its financial performance and modernise its fleet, transitioning toward more fuel-efficient aircraft. The carrier remains an important symbol of Romanian aviation heritage.
